NERF Flywheel Mk16

Due to ongoing issues with Thingiverse, I have removed all keyblaster files hosted here and will be rehosting or posting an update on my Etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/shop/meakerarms) Thank you for your support. *** After way longer than I'd intended, I'm pleased to present the: #Meaker Mk16 Flywheel Blaster A solenoid-driven flywheel powered small/medium blaster with a built-in stock and ample battery tray. Updates and advancements are expected in the future, but the base parts (magwell, grip, solenoid housing, stock, front) have been tested and work as expected. The current version is set up for dual-switch 'manual' semi-auto, but for those with the know-how to run a single-switch solenoid, the current setup should work and provide options. You're on your own for assembly ATM. Talon parts added - they are untested so YMMV but only replace the battery tray, magwell, mag release, and top pic rail. Frame Rails A or B hold everything together. You may need to test which is which; one is offset a few mm to the rear to try to hold everything together more tightly; the other is not. Required additional hardware: * 35mm 12vDC solenoid, similar to [this one](https://www.banggood.com/DC-12V-35mm-Long-Stroke-Push-Pull-Solenoid-Small-Electromagnetic-Electric-Magnet-p-1217063.html?gmcCountry=US¤cy=USD&createTmp=1&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=cpc_union&utm_content=2zou&utm_campaign=ssc-us-en-all&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIz9fb_uvx4AIVxx-tBh2KOQaGEAQYAiABEgJtr_D_BwE&cur_warehouse=CN) but widely available on eBay/Amazon/etc. and appears to be the same unit everywhere. Screws to hold it, IIRC M5 but I'll need to verify. * 2x Flywheel motors of your choosing from [Outofdarts](https://outofdarts.com/collections/motors) et al. * 2 omron-style microswitches of your choice (I use clones on 20v with Fang motors with no issues) - one with the lever, one with the button. If you only have lever ones, you can remove the lever for the one that needs to be a button. You'd need to come up with a lever for the other one, but it's really just a bent piece of flat steel. * A flywheel cage of your choosing; should be styrofoam and has been checked against OFP gen 1 and 2. Known issue with this front and the Ultracage, I'm looking at options there *but* because the front pops off it shouldn't be a big deal down the line. * Wiring/XT60's/shrink/battery/etc. common to flywheel builds * #6x1/2" plastite screws; possibly alternatively sheet metal screws. I forget if I used 1" screws in this build like I did in the mk18. * Rubber band for the mag release * Small springs for the stock clamps * Pieces of filament to use as axles for the stock clamps and mag release * ~2-4 rings from a Retaliator mainspring (to put on the back of the solenoid and help kick its return cycle properly) * You may also need a pusher foot on the end of the solenoid, I'll ask FTW if I can use the one they designed. --- # Additional Special Thanks To r/Nerf users: /u/Mrheathpants for the stock design and general feedback /u/thejesusfreak / [Flywheel The World](https://www.facebook.com/flywheeltheworld/) for coming up with the solenoid-driven blaster and support figuring it out. Also for the "5mm pusher end piece" that should help your solenoid. /u/Lukekobojobo (Tantumbull on Nerfhaven) for drawing up a much better solenoid model than I did /u/kuryaka for supplying the widetrigger and muzzle-short optional parts /u/ka-dargo for generously supplying parts that will hopefully make it into an advanced version of this blaster
