Nerf Firestrike Barrel Extension
thingiverse
A custom attachment for Nerf Firestrikes, designed as part of a larger project that's been given permission to share publicly. This particular component is made for easy installation, with a unique design feature that allows it to fit securely on one side only. The test fitting image shows the attachment in place on an unfinished Nerf body, painted in a single color to highlight its features. Once completed, we'll post an updated picture of the finished product. The STL file "Firestrike Muzzle Extension 1.stl" represents version two of this design. It includes a deeper recess at one end and is crafted with attention to detail to match the aesthetic of the Nerf Firestrike. In real-world applications, the barrel angle might be trimmed to conceal it under the circular ports, but for now, that's not a priority. The attachment was secured using CA adhesive and a kicker, and there are plans to refine the design further by drilling out the circular ports for a smoother finish. However, for mass production, we'll opt to cut off the barrel on subsequent models to simplify the manufacturing process. Future iterations of this component may include a cutout for the tab near the barrel, allowing it to sit flush with the gun's body. Alternatively, we might develop a "combo" unit that attaches to both the barrel and the light port, given the added electronics and the minimal extra space required.
