### Introduction This compact tool was created to efficiently remove those pesky dart posts/dart pegs from various Nerf blasters, allowing for use of half-length darts. It's particularly useful for Nerf MicroShots which seem to be glued/solvent-welded shut and difficult to disassemble. If you've ever tried inserting needle-nose pliers down the barrel of a blaster, you know how challenging it is to fit them in there. That's why this removal tool was designed to be compact. **IMPORTANT:** You will need a properly calibrated 3D printer to produce this tool since it's not tolerant of dimensional differences. ### How to Use This 1. Gently insert the removal tool (rounded end first) all the way into the dart post. If you feel any resistance, do not force it in – just rotate the tool slightly to match the profile of the dart post before inserting it all the way in. 2. Now grasp the tool handle and twist left and right about a half turn each way. Repeat this back-and-forth twisting motion until the dart post breaks off and comes loose – if you do it right, you should consistently get a very clean break. DO NOT twist/turn in only one continuous direction, as this tends to cause the dart post to get stuck within the tool. Always alternate the twisting direction until the dart post breaks off. 3. If the dart post remains stuck inside the removal tool, use another dart post to poke it out the rear, or a small-diameter jeweller's screwdriver to push it out – I prefer pushing it out the front of the tool. Tested and confirmed working for: * Hammershot * Disruptor * MicroShots Hammershot * MicroShots Firestrike * Mediator Doublestrike It should fit most Hasbro Nerf blasters, as the socket profile is 4mm square. ED-SKaR did a video on the initial v1.0 release of this tool; you can see it here (keep in mind that some of his suggestions have now been implemented in the latest version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJzk9jkrlQs ### RELEASE NOTES/CHANGE LOG **v1.1 (17 December 2018)** * Enlarged the base/handle for better ergonomics – thanks to ED-SKaR for the feedback and suggestions. This necessitated increasing the total height of the tube by 10 mm in order to clear the top of the Hammershot turret. * Also as per ED-SKaR's suggestion, I widened the inner diameter of the tube (with the exception of the first 15 mm which retains the 4.0 mm square profile) so that you can push twisted dart posts through and they will hopefully fall out the rear opening. **v1.0 (19 November 2018)** Initial release.
