Nerf Barrel Extension Adapter
thingiverse
This grip attachment is designed for Nerf guns' barrel extension port, coupling it with a 1/2 inch PVC pipe. The included SCAD file allows you to adjust the pipe diameter if necessary. With discounted older Nerf models available at many stores, you can find great deals like the pictured Rayven at a fraction of its original price. As a flywheel-based blaster, it's simple to increase the gun's RPM for more range but with reduced accuracy. A longer barrel could potentially improve this, although Nerf doesn't sell separate extensions. This trial piece, however, has shown promising results in both range and accuracy. Customize it by trimming and painting it orange, following local laws. The src.zip file contains the SCAD script for generating the piece, a corresponding DXF file for the locking mechanism, and a SketchUp file to draw the DXF. An updated version is also available for thinner-walled pipes, enhancing performance with nested barrels and improved compatibility with warped darts. When printed from the provided STL, trim off the bottom of the inner ring as it conflicts with the barrel tip. The SCAD file includes a mechanism to remove this before printing if desired. Ensure your 1/2 inch PVC pipe is a loose fit on the Nerf darts, and adjust the outer diameter in the SCAD file if needed, due to varying PVC pipe sizes despite listings.
