A table top Roman Scorpion(You may call her Sheila) for Nerf darts. This uses two inch rubber bands as the torsion ropes and standard sized nerf darts. Everything needs to be printed supported except for the stand. I strongly advice against rafting the clean up was a nightmare. It is a little difficult to explain how to feed the rubber bands through the bottom capstan and onto the notches on the top capstan. But once you have the rubber bands and the capstans on you can insert the limbs and add about a full rotation forward to both capstans. This will lock in your limbs. Now tie some string or fishing line into the hole on one limb then feed it through the other limb. You want to pull both limbs back by sliding the string into the trigger mechanism. Then adjust your string length till you are happy. I have found 11.5 centimeters or 4.5 inches works well. my personal best is about 7.6 meters or 25 feet with an nerf elite dart. So the game is on post your best distance. I would suggest adjusting string length to find the ideal power stroke and maybe adding more rubber bands to each capstan I am having success with 3 rubber bands on each side. Good luck!.
