Neptune 2 Logging Altimeter Replacement Battery Cover
thingiverse
Alti-2 kindly provided my battery cover a couple of times. However, they have now ceased production, and once again, my battery cover is broken. In response to this development, I took matters into my own hands by dissecting the original cover, identifying its weak points, and incorporating extra thickness in those areas. To everyone's surprise, a newly printed battery cover was successfully created. I strongly recommend that owners of this device follow suit by creating their own replacement covers through 3D printing technology. Below is a set of guidelines to assist with this process: After printing the new cover, it should function seamlessly. The only remaining question mark is whether the new cover securely connects with the battery, but fortunately for me, the Neptune's design makes movement of the battery extremely difficult, rendering this concern nearly obsolete. However, if your device requires water resistance, you might need to include a specific groove for the gasket in your new design. I'm open to exploring this possibility should there be sufficient interest in doing so and modifying the existing design.
