Neon LED Strip Enclosure
thingiverse
This is a remix of [RGB Light Tower](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4711605) ## Changes from original - Widened socket holes slightly in the middle part - Base shortened to allow for better modularity, socket not wide as the others, still very slightly widened - Wider opening for cable to be able to fit a whole USB plug inside - Rounder top part - Cover opening slightly wider to slide on easier - Alternative cover with integrated shim (untested) - A bracket/clip for support if glue doesn't work or if it's too weak. Recommended for the first two joints if you're going for a meter-long light. ## Hardware - Goes well with [Pimoroni's Neon-like RGB LED Strip with Diffuser](https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/neon-like-rgb-led-strip-with-diffuser-neopixel-ws2812-sk6812-compatible) - Any ESP board (NodeMCU, etc) with [WLED](https://kno.wled.ge/) installed, or any other way of driving the strip You can measure how long you need and slice the long parts to match. I accidentally broke the strip while testing the first prints so mine as shown in the photos is shorter than a meter in length: I have 77 LEDs instead of 96. ## Dimensions - Base, 1 middle piece and top cap can fit a 340 to 350mm LED strip - Middle piece is 248mm long with 240mm usable area, so it's possible to use multiple middle pieces and accomodate multiples of 240 (+ 100/110 for the base and top cap): - Use 2 middle pieces for 580mm to 590mm (`2 x 240 + 100`) - 3 middle pieces for 820mm to 830mm - or 4 middle pieces for 1060mm long strips (at least one support bracket recommended)
