Neolithid for D&D
thingiverse
A mature neothelid is an enormous worm measuring scores of feet in length and weighing tens of thousands of pounds. A Neolithid emerges as the result of a catastrophic failure within an Illithid reproductive cycle. The tadpoles held captive in the Elder Brain tank are perpetually feeding on one another, ultimately producing the most robust individuals by the time they reach implantation age. When one tadpole grows too large, the Illithids perceive it as a potential threat and eliminate it. A Neolithid, however, manages to evade this fate due to its accelerated growth rate. By the time the Illithid caretakers inspect the tadpole pool, the Neolithid has likely already escaped, reaching several feet in length. From that point forward, it continues to expand in size, feeding on the cerebral tissue of other creatures. The base model measures 4 inches in diameter and is classified as "Gargantuan" in scale. This design was conceived with Dungeons & Dragons in mind but can be adapted for use in various other role-playing games.
