NEMA17 Stepper Motor 3D Model
thingiverse
This is an enhanced version of the NEMA17 3D model offered by kdtop3. The primary enhancements involve correcting the hole spacing to 31mm, which is typical for NEMA17 motors, and altering the top-level translation so that the mounting surface sits at z=0. The motor shaft remains centered at xy=0. Various other tweaks to the openSCAD source are outlined at the top of the provided openSCAD file. Two STL files are included: File Nema17_48mm.stl represents a 48mm long motor like a Kysan 1124090, and File Nema17_26r5mm.stl represents a 26.5mm long motor such as an e3d MT-1701HSM140AE. Other motors can be defined by adjusting various parameters in the openSCAD source. The result generated here is not intended for printing; instead, it serves as a model design that would be used within another higher-level design typically by importing the STL result from this model. OpenSCAD higher-level designs have the option of using the Nema17 module directly. The model will usually need to be rotated and translated as required for the higher-level design. Rotate the model for the desired mounting face orientation first, and then translate the rotated model to its desired location within the higher-level assembly. Review the comments provided at the beginning of the openSCAD source for more information.
