NEMA17 Geared Stepper Motor Adaptor Plate

This is an upgrade plate designed to convert a 2GN-sized gearbox into a Nema17 geared stepper motor system. I'm using this adapter to replace the manually controlled DC gear motor on my laser cutter's bed with a NEMA 17 geared stepper motor, which will allow the laser controller to auto-focus and adjust the laser head's height during cutting or engraving. Holes in the plate are slotted to fit bolt circles of 28-35mm on the stepper motor gearhead and 65.5-74.5mm for the gear motor, while maintaining a consistent offset of 10mm, making it possible to use the same pulleys and belt length as the original gear motor. I constructed this adapter using two layers of black 1/8" cast acrylic, bonded together with weld-on brand acrylic solvent. I chose 1/8" due to availability, although I wished for a thicker plate given the torque involved. Updated V2: Recognizing 1/4" thickness as excessive, I modified the design by cutting a 36mm hole in one layer to recess the stepper motor within the plate. Additionally, I eliminated the slots and created holes matching my existing motors. The updated SVG features 3mm holes at a 28mm circle for the stepper motor, 5mm holes at a 70mm circle, and a 36mm hole to recess the stepper motor.
