To lower the temperature of your printer's stepper motors, add a 40mm 12v fan specifically to the y-axis motor, which runs hottest among all five. You may also opt for an additional fan on the x-axis motor. The fan housing is designed with a press fit onto the stepper motor and includes captive nuts for fan screws. It has a step inside to maintain a 5mm gap at the rear of the motor, allowing air to enter through the fan and exit via four side vents. Simply attach the fan to the 12v supply while operating your printer. To install, print the housing, insert four nuts into its base, and mount the fan on a NEMA17 type stepper motor. Lastly, extend the fan wires and connect them to the 12v supply of your electronics board.
