NEMA17 Compound Planetary Gearbox 40:1 ratio
thingiverse
Continuation of my ongoing project is available for reference at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2122538. This is an ongoing work in progress! I haven't printed a test assembly yet, but you can try printing this as is - although I'm confident all parts will fit together seamlessly. The gearbox fits directly on top of a standard NEMA 17 motor and its sides sit flush with the motor. This gearbox features a 40:1 ratio and two 608z bearings to support the output ring, ensuring it can deliver torque at the output without any unwanted movements inside the assembly. In its double bearing version, this gearbox is only 26mm thick, and in its single bearing version, it will be just 19mm. I've yet to see a more significant reduction in a smaller package that can easily mount on a NEMA 17 motor - although I'm aware such reducers likely exist, I haven't seen them. This project remains a work in progress, and I'll update it as the project continues. UPDATE 15.06.2017: Fixed non-manifold files, reduced file size dramatically while maintaining all details at the same resolution - CATIA STL generation bug caused both issues.
