Nema mounted nozzle cam for direct drive Ender 3 + pi camera
thingiverse
I just upgraded my printer to direct drive (using SpeedDrive: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3816051). Highly recommended! With the extruder stepper motor positioned above the nozzle, I envisioned this as the perfect spot to attach a camera. A series of trial and error prints led me to develop this design. By placing the camera at the rear of the printer, you'll obtain an excellent close-up view of the nozzle while keeping it out of the way. No screws are necessary! The motor screws don't have any additional threading to accommodate inserting anything in between. I designed all the parts to stay securely in place through friction alone. The fork connecting the nema mount and camera housing holds the hinges firmly in place. Meanwhile, the camera board is clamped within its housing due to my inability to find suitable screws for the camera PCB. I printed this model using PETG, so I can't speak to how well the clamps will function with PLA. A Freecad file has been included if you wish to customize!
