NEMA 23/MK8 bowden Extruder - "Kraftwerk" Basic Version
thingiverse
You're on the hunt for a robust bowden extruder to pair with your large size printer. I've got just the thing for you. This is the first model in my series of extruders, and it's designed to be a game-changer. I've created a modified version that includes a filament-tracking system - check it out on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:955370. This extruder is optimized for use with 1.75mm filament, but keep in mind that you'll need a NEMA 23 stepper motor with a 5mm shaft to get the most out of it. The standard shaft size on these motors is 6.5mm, so be sure to check your specifications before buying. The extruder is designed to work seamlessly with the MK8 drive pulley, which provides smooth and reliable performance. Here's what you'll need to build this beast: * 4 x M5 nuts (DIN934) * 1 x M4 nut (DIN934) * 3 x M5x16 screws (DIN912) * 1 x M5x35 screw (DIN912) * 1 x M4x30 screw (DIN912) * 1 x round steel rod (6mm, 12mm long) * 2 x bearings (684ZZ and 626ZZ) * 1 x standard print bed spring * 1 x eye screw (M5x40, DIN444) * 1 x M5 nut (DIN466) * 2 x push fits (M5, 4mm tube) * 1 x MK8 drive gear * 1 x NEMA 23 stepper motor (with a 5mm shaft!) * And of course, the two printed parts that make up this extruder. I'd love to see what you create with this baby - share your makes and let's get printing!
