NEMA 23 Direct Drive Extruder
thingiverse
The PNEMAtruder alternative features a NEMA 23 stepper motor, delivering 76 oz-in of torque, sufficient for feeding filament into the hot-end. Adopting the MK5's plunger mechanism and mounting chassis, this design also offers an option for the MK4 version or Printruder II (III) for those without MK5. The customized stepper from Anaheim Automation has a datasheet available for download. Expect delivery by Saturday, 1-8-2011. This tested design requires only two prints, taking approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes at .35mm layer height. Assembly is straightforward: insert the plunger into the main block and secure it with an MK5 plunger screw. Additional requirements include a NEMA 23 stepper motor and a Gen4 stepper driver. Once set up, you're ready to print with your new extruder - rock on!
