This project began as an attempt to create a tiny wind turbine with solely printed parts and a NEMA 17 41nm motor acting as a generator, along with simple electronics for charging a 12V car battery. After three fun days of development and sharing on Thingiverse, the final release is here. Check out the instructions to learn how to make it. The wind turbine has since been tested up to 25 m/s in theory (although a wind tunnel was unavailable). Unfortunately, one set of wings broke during a demonstration at school, prompting a change to blue wings for better durability. The wings are now welded together with solid iron and balanced by adjusting materials on the two wings to achieve optimal results. A short video has been added showing low wind performance with gusts from buildings. This turbine can generate power even at low speeds. Instructions: Before using this design, please be aware that the creator cannot be held responsible for injuries to persons or property. Bill of Materials (BOM) includes necessary files, hardware components like a NEMA 17 motor, diodes or AC-DC bridges, bolts, nuts, wires, and a significant amount of plastic (approximately 200g). Print the parts using 0.3mm layer height and 15% infill. Assemble the wings by gluing or melting them together. Mount the motor using four 412mm bolts. Attach the house on a m8 rod with bolts, washers, and bearings. Create the electronics and place it inside the house. Mount the rock on the center with a bolt and zz-bolts. Attach the wings carefully, ensuring balance and drilling holes for mounting. Finally, install the wings onto the motor rod after filing down for extra grip. If you face challenges connecting the rotorplane to the motor/generator in stormy conditions, consider using a brass insert (pictured with order number). Balancing the wings is crucial, and a step-by-step tutorial on how to build the turbine is being created.
