Nema 17 Stepper 5:1 Planetary Reducer
thingiverse
This is a work-in-progress stepper motor upgrade with overhangs. The design can potentially handle a substantial torque; however, testing remains pending. To use it, print the parts and clean them as necessary. Insert two 683ZZ bearings into each planet gear (totaling six per planet). Attach the planet gears to the carrier using a 6mm bolt as an output shaft and securing with 3mm screws, nuts, and loctite. Place the carrier assembly inside the case and insert another bearing in the cover. Thread set screws into the sun gear's pockets and attach it to your stepper. Tighten both set screws before placing the sun gear inside the case and fastening everything together. A shorter stepper shaft could reduce the design length by 5mm. The upgrade has been modified since its initial upload on May 11th, with recent changes including multi-stage capability, separate STL files, and adjustments to the gear library for internal gears.
