Nema 17 Motor Mount for a Wood 2x4
thingiverse
Here's a simple design for a NEMA17 stepper motor mount that can be attached directly to the end of a 2x4. The mount consists of two parts: a base plate and a motor holder. The base plate is made from 1/4 inch thick plywood, while the motor holder is fabricated from 1/8 inch thick aluminum sheet. To begin, cut out the base plate to size using a jigsaw or bandsaw. Next, drill four holes in each corner of the base plate for attachment to the 2x4. Cut out the motor holder from the aluminum sheet and drill three holes: one for the stepper motor's mounting screw and two for screws that will attach it to the base plate. Mount the base plate to the end of a 2x4 using four screws, then secure the motor holder to the base plate with two screws. Finally, insert the stepper motor into the motor holder and tighten the retaining screw. This simple design provides a sturdy and reliable attachment point for your NEMA17 stepper motor, while also allowing for easy removal and installation as needed.
