NEMA 17 Motor Holder

NEMA 17 Motor Holder

thingiverse

Originally designed for wall mounting a NEMA 17 stepper motor in an AS220-style drawbot, this holder can accommodate most motors of that size. However, if your motor has a small shaft protruding from the back, you'll need to use the provided spacer(s) to ensure a flat mounting surface. To create the holder, cut out all parts using 3mm (1/8") baltic birch. You'll need one bottom piece with holes, two top pieces, and one or more spacers depending on your motor's rear shaft length. Assemble by gluing the top pieces together, checking for motor fit, then attaching the bottom piece followed by the spacer(s). The CB files are for CamBam, a CAM program used with a mill; lasercutting is also an option but will require eliminating the bottom pocket.
