This tool is designed to assist with installing gears (such as those used in geared extruders) on Nema 17 motors efficiently. Any bearing is highly sensitive to lateral pressure, which can be perpendicular to the motor's rotation direction. The gears I tested required considerable force, leading me to worry about damaging the internal bearings of the Nema 17 motor. This tool effectively reduces the risk of damaging the internal bearing of the motor during gear installation on the axle. A round pad is positioned in the middle of the tool to directly absorb pressure from the shaft. Since the shaft cannot move downward when mounting the gear, there will be no lateral pressure exerted on the internal bearings. Feedback is welcome.
