NEMA 17 Gear Joint (Print In Place)
thingiverse
This compact joint rotates along its axis as required for many robotic arm projects, thanks to a gear ratio of 2:1 that perfectly balances torque and speed. The joint prints in place, holding the NEMA 17 stepper motor firmly in place with only M3 bolts. Users can adjust the tolerances by modifying the OpenSCAD file provided. If the joint gets stuck after printing, a gentle tap with a hammer should release it easily. I've since used this design to create my own robotic arm: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4546364
