To create a Wade's extruder variant for Huxley frame, remove X carriage mounting holes. The modified design accommodates a 3mm OD bowden tube and works with 1.75mm filament, driven by an M4 toothed brass insert. A gear ratio of nearly 5.9:1 is achieved using 9 and 53 tooth gears. A NEMA14 may be a better choice as it requires less force for 1.75mm filament. The huxley_gears.scad file uses Greg Frost's involute gear script. Mounting improvements are ongoing, but the design is functional on an eMAKER Huxley prototype machine with necessary vitamins, including a NEMA17 hybrid stepper motor. Print gears using a 0.5mm nozzle for optimal results.
