NEMA 14 to 17 adapter
thingiverse
After three days of use, the NEMA 14 motor on my Solidoodle 4 malfunctioned due to overpowering. Research revealed this issue. Fortunately, I had a NEMA 17 spare and created an adapter for it. Made from aluminum, the adapter has nuts holes for 3D printing. The machine now jogs quietly but occasionally skips steps, making printing difficult. The problem may be that my NEMA 17 (48mm version) is underpowered, causing binding even at full current. I'm hoping Solidoodle will replace the faulty NEMA 14 with a shorter NEMA 17 motor.
