Nema 14 Bowden Extruder Mount for 1.75mm Filament
thingiverse
This is an updated version of schlotzz awesome NEMA 17 Bowden extruder for 1.75mm filament (thing 275593) that has been scaled down for use with a NEMA 14 stepper and Mk7 or Mk8 hobbed gear. This version is designed for those looking to reduce printer movement, power consumption, and weight while maintaining high-quality prints. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm (.1mm for m6 editions) Infill: 20% Notes: I used PLA on an unheated bed with blue painters tape. If you try using ABS, please send me a message or comment detailing your experiences. I currently do not have access to any ABS, but I would like to print the structural load-bearing clamp in it. Post-Printing This extruder uses a 608zz bearing and can be assembled with M3 nuts and socket bolts except for one M5 nut that secures the bearing in place. It is recommended to tap the hole first as the inner diameter is actually 4.8mm to give better threads. Reference schlotzz thing 275593 for hardware specifics and a possible spring-loaded bearing arm. Custom Section EDIT 1: Improvements, options The original file had an error that caused the base plate of the NEMA 14 Mount to fall off due to a gap between the plate and the mount. This has been fixed. Another option has been added. The mount is now designed to accept a push-fit m6 pneumatic connector at its output end, and the clamp has been modified to fit this new change. These files have [M6 ed] at the end. A printable m6 connector file is also included, courtesy of Brettarm's brilliant work.
