NEMA-11 stepper driven linear stage
thingiverse
This project is taking shape, and it's already operational. The parametric designs (pre-compiled for a NEMA11) make it possible to connect a stepper motor directly to a linear stage (specifically designed for my Newport M-UMR8.25 model). Here are some essential resources: www.phidgets.com/products.php?category=23&product_id=3300_0 search.newport.com/?x2=sku&q2=M-UMR8.25 The design offers two alternatives for the shaft coupler: 1. Shaft.stl: a direct coupling system that needs to be finely polished and aligned. 2. (Preferred option) Shafts 2 - a, b, c: an articulated coupler system. Below are the necessary assembly instructions: Print on a MakerBot Replicator 2x Use ABS filament with a raft, purge walls, infill of 15%, shells set at 4, and layer height of 0.2mm. Optional parts like aprons may appear visible in the 3D rendering. To assemble: - Bore holes on the front and bottom plates for a secure fit - Tapped holes for M3 screws along the sides (Note: on my printer setup, I needed to touch them up with some extra details or use M2.5)
