Nelo Footrest Support
thingiverse
The plastic replica of Nelo's footrest features two rubber feet to prevent flexing in the foot plate. These feet are somewhat undersized, potentially causing marks on the foot well if excessive force is applied. This design serves as an extension of the pegs, providing a broader base for support against the bottom. The footrest becomes exceptionally stable. The model is specifically designed for straightforward printing, resulting in slightly leaning "buckets." The footwell itself boasts a curved bottom; upon completion, the mid-section should be pre-bent to ensure the buckets are perfectly parallel. To prevent scratches from sand or other abrasive materials, it's recommended to apply an additional layer of plastic film underneath. I personally use two layers of plastic tape for added protection. When mounting the support, screw the pegs up as much as possible, then pull the foot plate backward (toward the seat) and slide the support in from the same side. Finally, turn the pegs down into the buckets, securing them firmly in place.
