thingiverse

A lightweight payload delivery system for Alexander Middle School's Tech Ed program. This design opts out of recovery wadding and, instead, uses a sabot to eject the payload.Payload size is limited to 2 inches in diameter and just over 3 inches in length. The payload bay was sized this way so a parachute and an egg could easily fit.The rocket, nose cone and sabot pieces tumble to the ground after payload delivery. This payload delivery system is designed for a single use only; it is not reusable. The engine retainer part is intended to be hot-glued in place, to secure the engine in place.57 grams printed weight. Printed on X1C, with standard settings, no brim.Uses 18mm engine sizes; successfully tested with B6-2.Capable of lifting an egg or similar mass.
