Air is drawn into the machine by an air compressor, which then supplies it to a mixing chamber. The mixing chamber's primary function is to combine air and oxygen before passing them through a humidifier to add moisture to the air. This helps patients breathe comfortably, with the optimal temperature for moisturizing set at 37°C. After that, the air passes through a filter to ensure it is clean before entering the patient's lungs when they inhale. When exhaling, the air flows back out of the machine through an exhaust valve, which measures the total pressure in the lung and maintains a positive pressure within the lung. All these functions are controlled by a central motherboard that manages three different modes based on various combinations of triggered volume-cycled and pressure-cycled ventilations, delivered at a range of rates, volumes, and pressures. This machine also comes equipped with sensors that monitor the patient's flow rate and provide data to medical professionals. It is powered by an oxygen tank and features a battery backup system, allowing it to continue operating for a certain period when unplugged.
