Needle and filament is a family of insulin pump covers. This work is a key component of my degree dissertation, titled "Ago e Filo," which explores the insulin microinfuser and diabetes in depth. The products were designed with the collaboration of +LAB, a leading organization in design engineering, for a graduation project. Instructions: To shape these covers, follow a method similar to that used by Andreas Bastian: dip the flat print in hot water (over 80°C) for a few seconds, then remove it and place it on the mounting template. Next, bend the product on the template to achieve the correct geometry of the cover, holding it in position until it cools, then carefully remove it. You should obtain a lightweight cover for your micropump (Accuchek Combo or Animas Vibe). MINIMAL COMBO: To create this design, simply place the flat print of the cover in hot water and bend the sides once on the template. This version features a clip that allows you to hang it from your clothes; to open it, form the small extension notched on the cover at your preferred angle. SKULL COMBO is the most personalized product within this family. Designed for a single user with a passion for skulls, I will provide a file without their initials. To create this cover, follow the same process as before: first place the flat print on the mounting template, then dip one side at a time in hot water and bend it into shape. Due to its complex geometry, it may be challenging to achieve the desired result the first time. For the clip, you must bend the corresponding part of the cover towards itself, rather than around the template (detailed photos will be uploaded). ANIMAS ZOOM: For the Animas series and Minimal combo pause_print, I introduced a pause in the printing process. This feature allows you to insert a shaped Fresnel lens into the cover for the Animas model. The Minimal combo pause_print offers the option to change materials, enabling you to create a double-colored cover or an overprint with a different material (my tests were conducted using PLA Flex). MEDTRONIC MINIMED: I modified the clip created by two users by adding holes, allowing you to insert a lace into the clip and securely attach your pump to your belt. Please note that this product is intended as a replacement part, not a substitute for your original Medtronic clip.
