Necktie
thingiverse
This is an awesome printable necktie that will guarantee you a lot of attention at any party or show and makes for a great conversation starter about your passion - 3D printing. The design uses a mesh fabric to create the hinges, which works perfectly. The tie is split into four sections to be able to print it on almost every normal-sized print bed. Pause the print at z-height 5.3mm to insert the mesh. To mask the connection areas between the sections, the design incorporates detailed elements that can be printed in a different color. For the shown Tie, silver metallic PLA from Owl-Filament has been used for the main print and Vertigo Galaxy PLA from Fillamentum for the details. To increase the strength of the glued areas and for easier lining up during gluing, FilaPins are added. For the neck loop, a 15-20mm wide elastic band is recommended. Sew a small loop at each end of the required length and secure it with 3mm filament pin in the tie knot. The files contain designs for different lengths. Use a regular tie to determine the required length; resume from the bottom of the knot to the tip of the tie (dimension in millimeter). If you need a different length, please write a comment.
