Necklace Stand with spider web at top
prusaprinters

This a necklace stand I designed to hold 16 necklaces. I wanted to make it a little more interesting to look at, so I added the spider web design at the top. I used a 11.5" long 3/8" oak dowel for the support, but you can print a plastic dowel if you prefer from the included file. The widest part is slightly less than 200mm. I also included a test part so you can check whether the hole prints the correct size on your printer. I still had to sand the dowel a little so it had a nice slip fit & would turn easily.

There is an updated version of this design located here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1054244

Instructions

Print the test part 1st to make sure the hole will be the correct size.

If it needs adjusting on your printer, create a new test part by changing the P38ID variable size in the file TestDowelAndHoleSize.scad & reprint. If you are going to use a 3/8" dowel, you do not need to print the plastic dowel part.

After you are happy with the sizes being correct.

Print the NecklaceStandTopWithStraightHooks_rev12_repaired.stl (this part took 3 hours & 50 minutes on my printer & weighs 2.2oz)

Print the NecklaceStandBottom_repaired.stl or receate this file changing the P38ID variable in the corresponding openscad file

(this part took 1 hour & 30 minutes on my printer & weighs 0.8oz) 3. If you want to use the plastic dowel, which I made 8 sided, print the length you want. You can print the dowel diagonally on your build plate if it will fit better that way. The stl files are generated that way. I used a 11.5" long 3/8" Oak dowel instead of using the plastic part, since I had some & thought it would be better than plastic. I have not tested using the plastic dowels, but included this in case someone wanted to use all plastic.

I printed this in PLA at layer height of .2mm & infill of .2 & brim of 4 using Slic3r 0.99.
Category: Jewelry
