Necklace ring holder
cults3d
This is a necklace designed to securely hold a ring in place when not being worn on the finger. Thread a chain through both loops at the top and fasten it around your neck just like you would any other necklace. To put the ring on, simply push it over one end of this loop and then move it completely around the entire loop (check out the pictures for a better idea). When done, the ring will rest securely on top of the loop, making it extremely difficult to knock free. I designed this in CREO Parametric and printed several prototypes using my reprap 3D printer to get the dimensions just right. The actual version I made is premium silver, which looks amazing. The platinum ring shown here matches well with the silver (although I can only tell the difference between metals under a good light and a magnifying glass). I highly recommend getting the premium silver one because its sheen is lovely; however, if you have a gold ring, a gold version of this necklace might be a better choice. I made this specifically for my fiancée's engagement ring, which is a size K (UK size) and has a band that is approximately 2.5mm wide. However, the size isn't critical; any ring that isn't very wide will fit nicely in this holder. This necklace was printed from Shapeways in premium silver after I did some test prints with PLA on my reprap. If you're interested in getting one of these, please consider buying them directly from my Shapeways store: http://www.shapeways.com/model/1650246/necklace-ring-holder.html?li=shop-results&materialId=81
