Jade necklace, a regal treasure discovered in the grand antechamber of Tomb D in Group I at Holmul, Guatemala. The precision-crafted 3D model, created using cutting-edge photogrammetry techniques by Alexandre Tokovinine, showcases the intricacies of this ancient artifact. At its center, a stunning jewel takes center stage, featuring the majestic head of the revered Maize God. A cormorant beak elegantly caps the god's visage, while the inscription on the back of his head reveals a significant historical detail: the "necklace" in question was once proudly worn by a revered Kaanul lord. The text etched onto the jewel hints at the noble owner's identity, with the name beginning with Yuknoom. However, the second element is intriguingly complex, featuring a phonetic complement marked by "-na." Interpreting this, one possible reading yields TI'CHAN. If accurate, this interpretation would identify the lord as none other than seventh-century Kaanul king Yunoom Ti' Chan.
