Nebulon B Frigate (Cut and Sectioned)
thingiverse
--Please look forward to a second version in the next few months-- This is a model from the author Daniel at Sketchfab, I've taken the original and scaled it up to be around 1:270 similar to the X-Wing game (It measures approximately 1.111 meters once assembled). The pieces are cut into smaller sections held together with pegs and squares inserted. Though the pieces are cut up they are still quite large. I will be printing this out over the next few months as I get spare time, so I can't comment on how it fits together or prints yet. The original file comes from Sketchfab here: https://sketchfab.com/models/1986f7b0dee647b3b2374eb80dbd1faf Please go like this file and commend the author! 1/16/2018: I picked up 4 rolls of Gray PETG, gonna start printing soon! 1/19/2018; Began printing some of the sections, need to add alot more cuts to many of the pieces, revision 2 of the sectioning process coming in the next few days. 1/20/2018: Version 2 released, further sections the model up to make it printable on my printers, still would need further modification for small printers. 1/21/2018: Fixed an issue with some of the files after printing a few test pieces. 1/21/2018: Further Sectioned the Rear of the ship, should be fully printable now. 1/22/2018: Made the tower on the rear portion a section. 1/26/2018: A few issues with the model rear section have been fixed. 1/26/2018: Added alternate sections with some added detail, mostly random shapes on the spine of the ship 1/31/2018: MiddleC_Alt and MiddleB_Alt had an alignment error, not critical but fixed. 2/11/2018: Update most the rear is printed, going to edit some pieces to add holes for a stand. 2/18/2018: Got a bit busy at work and haven't had much time to piece things together, having a lot of issues fitting pieces, may go back and change the design a bit. 3/31/2018: Sorry for the lack of updates, the fitting together of the ship has not been that great, but I will finish gluing this week, I am currently in process of revising the design. It has been fun and worth-while doing this version though. Note: I am going to be organizing this into a folder structure soon to better navigate all the pieces as I add more sections to this.
