Neanderthal Hand Axe

The discovery of a Flint hand axe in Boscombe, Hampshire, reveals the legacy of our ancient cousins, the Neanderthals, who continued to craft these essential tools in their own unique way. While they honed their skills, creating smaller and more streamlined sub-triangular shapes with flat bases, their techniques diverged from ours slightly. This remarkable artifact now takes its place alongside other treasures in the Royal Pavilion & Museums' extensive archaeological collections, thanks to the meticulous work of the University of Brighton's Cultural Informatics team, who have digitized it for all to appreciate.
