NE Pats Flying Elvis: Projection

NE Pats Flying Elvis: Projection

thingiverse

I am attempting to display a vibrant showcase of New England Patriots fandom. The transparent disc is being printed to match the size of an outdoor lamp we have, I will be trying to paint the background in black and the Flying Elvis in red and blue. This will be set against a lamp to be displayed on our barn. The note is that the Patriots logo is actually the actual svg file downloadable from Wikimedia (Pretty cool). If this is actually able to be displayed, I will also display the text (in a smaller font) citing the source. Instructions: 123D AutoCAD, I sketched a simple circle and added some text. Then I found the logo on Wikimedia and was able to download and import the svg file. (all parties will be accredited and this is ONLY for personal use) saved, exported as stl. Next I opened makerbot app, added the stl, moved it to the platform and printed. My 1st attempt directly on glass. (unheated, cleaned with isopropyl but no hairspray or pva) The first layer stuck just fine, but the second layer constricted and pulled the first layer upwards (warped it) I am printing using PLA at a thickness of .3mm on my 5th gen Makerbot with blue painter tape. Standard temperature and speed. No rafts or supports were used.
