NCSSM Tetragranny
thingiverse
This is a model of the sculpture titled 'Tetragranny' on the NCSSM campus in Durham, NC. > Tetragranny sculpture dedicated on Bryan Lawn > > The Tetragranny sculpture on NCSSM’s Durham campus is probably familiar to anyone who has lived or worked at the school since 1986, the year it was installed on the Bryan Lawn. Artist Frank Smullin (1943-1983), who taught at Duke University, designed and built the sculpture in 1981. Now, his wife, Ruth Smullin, has officially donated the artwork to the NCSSM Foundation. On a beautiful afternoon in October, Ms. Smullin and guests, including Joe Liles, NCSSM’s first art instructor (pictured above), gathered on the Bryan Lawn for the dedication of the Tetragranny sculpture. (The name, for those who don’t know, refers to the artwork’s combination of a tetrahedron and a granny knot.) - From the Catalyst Nov 5, 2021
