The Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy is awarded annually to the National Basketball Association's (NBA) champion team by the league's commissioner. It was initially known as the Walter A. Brown Trophy, named after its first recipient and founder of the Boston Celtics, until it was renamed in honor of NBA Commissioner Larry O'Brien in 1984.
