Navy SM-2 Missile Challenge Coin Holder
thingiverse
I've accumulated a vast collection of challenge coins that are too large for my standard holders, so I crafted one with larger slots and designed it to resemble an SM-2 Missile from my time on Aegis ships. The coin is precision-cut into three 150mm pieces to fit perfectly within the dimensions of my 150x150x150 print bed. Strategically placed holes allow excess filament to be inserted, guiding and holding the pieces together seamlessly. I produced three sturdy stands to attach to the holder, and it successfully bears the weight of the coins with ease. I employed artist's Gloss Gel Medium as the adhesive, which proved to be an excellent choice for bonding PLA materials. This versatile medium is readily available at major arts and crafts stores.
