Nautilus wind mill
thingiverse
Recently I discovered a cutting-edge new wind mill design for an urban wind turbine based on the amazing concept of the nautilus (logarithmic) spiral. To get some mental pictures about how the flow will act in this type of turbine, I decided to do a quick flat sketch of that spiral and to print a CW and CCW version of it. The results were indeed remarkable ... This is a video clip of my counter rotating double wheel test mill:http://youtu.be/8KqlQAKgarE I believe it can also be used for decorative or kinetic art purposes. Here are the features you will get: easy-to-customize model of a Nautilus windmill an easy-to-print mobile and wind wheel Here's what you need to know: OpenSCAD 2015 (the code uses dynamic arrays). ShortCuts.scad library (sorry for that, but it makes programming much simpler). Description available at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:644830
