Nautilus in a Bottle
thingiverse
Capture a Nautilus submarine from Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" in a bottle? No problem! You can even recreate my "Fleet of Nautilus" model with an accompanying transparent PLA (standard resolution, 1 shell and 0% infill) bottle. To print, use a MakerBot Replicator 2 with PLA. Avoid supports, but remember to add a raft for stability. Scale models at 1000% to avoid issues with thin features. For assembly, glue Nautilus halves together and decorate as desired. Print the bottle upside down, then pause print at 95%, insert Nautilus nose-down, and resume. Seal your captive Nautilus in its bottle for a unique display piece!
