Nautilus Gears with a stronger connecting bar
thingiverse
MishaT's design is impressive but faced issues with snapping pins in some prints of the product. The pins rely on a small plastic 'weld' layer to provide strength, making it a weak point. However, using V2 of the curved connector led to a successful print. To enhance the structure's stability, this remix uses an M3 nylon or metal nut and bolt. The natural ABS-printed M3 nylon screws from your stash are perfect for this purpose. Once confident about gear meshing, use a craft knife to cut flush 12mm screws with the nut. While you can use metal bolts, the STLs show blind holes, enabling better print quality. To fix the issue of mid-air printing, drill out the hole using a 3mm bit after printing the bar. For MishaT's original Nautilus gear, this remix provides completeness and enables printing all parts simultaneously.
