Nautilus Dry Box (filament dry box)
thingiverse
Ever tried printing with Nylon or dissolvable supports only to find your filament ruined from being left out and absorbing moisture from the air? This simple dry box is designed to be easy to use and work with as many printer configurations as possible. The box is designed for both 1.75mm and 2.85mm diameter filament, allowing you to set it on just about any side so that the filament comes out in the direction best suited for your setup. Just toss the desiccant bag that comes with your filament in the box along with your spool and you're good to go! It even has groove mounts on the bottom specifically designed for the Prusa Multi-Material upgrade spool holder. Assembly instructions can be found at https://hydraresearch3d.dozuki.com/Guide/Nautilus+Dry+Box+Assembly+Instructions/6. The bill of materials is available at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k2HOYd6-jGM6FJpVYlm5hAzSwpsqUHbDyBcpwXiE4Iw/edit?usp=sharing. Tools needed include a 3D printer, soldering iron for heat set inserts, M3 and M5 hex key, and utility knife. Updates have been made to the dry box design. Improved fit tolerances were implemented on April 4, 2018. On March 5, 2018, spool rod grooves were improved so that the spool rod is more secure. On March 6, 2018, the hinge mechanism was adjusted to allow for maximum opening without cracking the hinge.
