Nautical/Pirate Antique Hand Cannon

This is a hand cannon I designed as a prop for this year's Halloween costume. It has a pirate/naval/nautical theme to it, and it's meant to fire candy while igniting a small amount of black powder simultaneously. I've just finished designing it, and only printed partial parts for testing purposes. There's still no finishing work done on it yet, obviously. I'll post pictures and updates as I make progress. I wanted to get this initial beta version up now in case anyone else wants to try making one for Halloween. Let me know if you've forgotten anything or if something is too confusing. Happy crafting! **Notes on the parts:** *Cannon* Print it as a single giant piece, with the compass side facing down. I have a CR-10 and it fits just fine. If you want to print it in two halves for smaller printers, let me know. *Stock* Butt stock: Print it as one giant piece, with the bottom side facing down. It should fit on my CR-10 without any issues. No support needed for this part either. Under barrel: Print it as one giant piece, with the back side facing down. Again, no issues with my CR-10. Let me know if you want to print it in two halves for smaller printers. Trigger assembly: This needs to be printed as two separate pieces, with the middle side facing down, and support is required. Trigger: Print these two separate parts as well, but without any support needed. *Candy cup* Print this part flat side down, with the latches facing up. No support necessary here either. *Barrel cap* Print either side down for this one. No support needed. *Pirate crest* Print it flat side down in your highest detail setting. I plan on doing this in my resin printer. It's meant to be glued onto the barrel once assembled. I patterned this off of an image I found on Google, and hopefully it's not too close to the real thing to be piratey. **Assembly Notes** I designed it with the idea of tying rubber-bands around the barrel cap and then putting them in the slots on the candy cup. The cup is more like a plunger. You string up the rubber-bands first, then screw the cup into the barrel. It can be "cocked" by using something for a ramrod to push the cup down into the barrel. To keep the rubber-bands from coming loose, I designed the cup to fit very tightly in the barrel. You may need to sand it a bit to get a good fit. This should also keep candy wrappers from getting stuck in the sides and messing with the candy launching fun. The firing mechanism is designed to fit a slightly deconstructed lighter that I got on Amazon (link below). Glue all the stock pieces together, except for one of the trigger assemblies. Then glue your two trigger halves together. Rig up your trigger, and glue your lighter into the trigger assembly as shown in the design picture. I designed it to snap together with some magnets that I also got on Amazon (link below). Glue the magnets into each half of the trigger assembly in the provided circle grooves. I also included a small hole in the axle for the trigger assembly, so you can insert a small metal rod for extra strength. A piece of a big paper clip or something should do the trick. The barrel mounts to the stock using the same magnets as the trigger assembly. I designed these two pieces to be removable for ease in changing out rubber-bands or other candy firing troubleshooting. **Links** Lighters: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y6GW3QR/ Magnets: https://www.amazon.com/Neodymium-Compatible-Permanent-Building-Scientific/dp/B07D1QPS1N
