There's a rich cultural heritage of appreciating rocks in East Asia, known as 'Suseok' in Korean, 'Suiseki' in Japanese, or 'Gongshi' in Chinese. Why not create one's own synthetic rocks and assign meanings to them? Here are some designs for 3D-printable Suseok that you can download. Download and print the models and name them in your own way. In East Asia, there is a tradition of attributing meaning to natural or polished stones and appreciating them aesthetically. In Korea, it's called Suseok; in Japan, Suiseki; and in China, Gongshi. Although rocks themselves have no inherent meaning, this culture reflects our tendency to attribute poetic significance to nature. Why not create artificial rocks with assigned meanings, just as we assign meaning? I've designed 3D-printable synthetic stones for you. You can download them from Thingiverse, print them, and collect your own Suseok. Alternatively, use various modeling tools to create your unique Susek.
