The key to this design is versatility. A single test section can be easily configured and reconfigured for many tests and trials. Multiple data channels allows sensors attached to the walls to record data. They can be fit with thermocouples, PIV equipment, etc. The idea is for each test section to have a separate, permanent work station where teams can easily set up and calibrate a trial.
