This challenge focuses on enhancing thermal coatings for the Orion module and Cobra MRV shuttle. The Orion's shield coating, similar to Apollo capsule's ablative type, seems advanced; however, innovation lies in applying the coating with robots instead of manual labor. Videos showcase a rotating platform and modern robotics as essential hardware. However, reliable control software is crucial for efficient robot operation, currently taking six months to fill thousands of cells manually. Considering SIRCA-15 ceramic tiles' coverage, peripheral sealing requires attention. To streamline this process, I envisioned gravity-assisted slurry deposition instead of under head. A specialized transport vehicle with pivoting wheels and circular rotation enables smooth shuttle movement between work stations, facilitating robot operations.
