NASA Rover Family Plate

NASA Rover Family Plate

thingiverse

Perseverance is the latest rover that NASA landed on Mars in a breath-taking sequence that we are starting to get images, videos and even sounds! Among the many scientific instruments and equipment, a couple of extra plates are part of Perseverance hardware including one depicting the evolution of the rover family exploring Mars for the last decades, from Sojourner up to perseverance and Ingenuity. So, as a celebration of this amazing achievement you can now 3D print this plate and feel a bit closer from our robotic friend which is now up to an amazing adventure exploring Mars. The model was designed using a picture shared by Dr. Moogega Cooper on Twitter (@moogega). It can be printed in one single piece using pause/resume to change filament midprint but it can be also printed separately. The model in one single piece can be printed in a standard 200X200 mm buildplate. The model in separated parts can be rescaled as desired from its original size to fit your buildplate. As a tip, with the model sitting flat on the surface, rescale only X and Y so you will not make the model too thin. As more details of this plate become available, some revisiting is expected to make sure it is close to the real thing. Make sure to check my newest model with the other plates from Perseverance Rover [available for free here](https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/nasa-perseverance-plates). If you print any of those plates, make sure to show the results here on the Makes section or tag me on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/_3d_tm) and [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/3d.tm/) Let's all celebrate this achievement!
