Nasa Rotating arm machine
grabcad
The device operates through the rotation of its motor, with clockwise motion enabling rocks under 2cm diameter passage. Rocks smaller than 1cm are then released due to continuous rotation. Rocks between 1cm and 2cm are collected in a container. To collect fine regolith, the machine rotates counter-clockwise. A filter within the pipe aids sample filtration, ultimately depositing fine regolith into the container. This design requires only one stepper motor, making it compatible with robotic arm attachment.
