This is my entry for NASA's RASSOR Bucket Drum Design Challenge, featuring specs that include an outer diameter of 450mm and a width of 360mm, with the scoops engaged at one time measuring 90.75mm wide. The cut depth approximates 30mm, while the estimated weight comes in at around 4.9 kg based on SolidWorks estimates. My design retains approximately 35% of regolith, with an estimated fill volume of around 70%. The materials used include titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP). Construction involves bonding CFRP to titanium joints using epoxy and welding titanium to titanium joints. Notably, grates prevent particles larger than 10.25mm from entering the drum, which was modeled in SolidWorks and rendered with PhotoView 360.
